Flower Shop Pretend Play Printable
Pretend play is lots of fun! Simply print, add in some flowers and you are ready to play!
Looking for a quick and easy pretend role play set up? This is perfect for you!
This flower shop pretend play printable is a simple invitation for your child to engage in some pretend imaginative play.
I kept this printable really simple as it was for Miss 4. You could add in extra props for older children if you wish.
What is included in the free flower shop pretend printable:
Flower Shop signs
Flower price list sign
Open and closed sign
Blank notes to write on to put with the flowers
Flower order printable notes
What we used:
We used a pretend shop that we bought from Kmart Australia a few years ago.
Our wooden cash register is Hape brand.
The felt flowers on the top of the counter are Tara's Treasures brand.
Our other pretend flowers were from mainly Kmart Australia.
To save laminating we put our price list sign in a plastic reusable pocket from Officeworks and used a whiteboard marker to write the price list. A chalkboard marker would work well too. Your child can help decide the prices they would like.
Tips for play:
Add in bunches of flowers, flowers from the garden or paper flowers etc.
A little table makes a great shop
Add in a pencil or something else to write with to encourage your child to write or explore mark making with the printable notes. My kids put a note with each flower that was bought from their shop.
Grab a pretend phone and call the flower shop to make a phone order. Your child can have fun delivering the flowers too!
Allow your child to help set up the shop. Miss 4 and I set this up together. She decided where things were going. She ended up adding in some pretend food and drinks to make it a cafe as well. Let your child explore how they wish!
Add in a pretend cash register and some money to develop some early numeracy through play.
Pretend money - notes and coins can be bought from places like Officeworks quite cheaply. This is great for exploring counting and learning the value of money.
Opportunities for learning through play:
Imaginative play - pretending to run a shop/shop at the flower shop
Exploring and expanding vocabulary
Developing communication skills
Learning about real life - how to buy from a shop
Exploring ideas about money
Numbers on the coins and notes
Turn taking and playing with others
Exploring writing and mark making using the notes
Exploring caring for others - e.g. buying flowers and writing a note
+ so much more
