So simple to make ... so beautiful for play!

We love loose parts play ideas! This one is a simple way to use little tiny loose parts and some jars to make a beautiful resource that can be used for light play, building and more!
These have been used for building towers and other creations with. We have also used them on the light panel several times now since making them.
You could glue the lids on (or tape them) if you don't want children to be able to get the loose parts and mix them up, or you might want them to be able to do this too! There is no right or wrong here.
At the moment I have told my girls to leave the little loose parts in the jars, but we may end up using them in other ways where they mix the materials too.
*IMPORTANT: Please note that these play ideas contain small parts, which are a choking hazard for young children. These play ideas are suitable for children ages 3+. All play ideas should be actively supervised by an adult. It is your responsibility to determine the suitability of these ideas for your child/ren.
Loose Parts Play Idea - D.I.Y. Colourful Light Play Containers
This was such a simple DIY way to make some pretty containers that are perfect for light panel/light table play + building too!

What I used:
12 Pack of storage containers (linked here $5 from Kmart Australia)
(FYI - these containers are also great to use as part of a sensory play set up! They are fun to fill up and empty out).
I bought a pack of these and filled them with the following small items (all for children ages 3+ as they are a potential choking hazard) that I already had at home:
Coloured beads
Coloured gemstones ( I bought a large pack of these for crafting from Spotlight a while back in the craft section)
Mini translucent cubes
Rocks
Crystals + gemstones
Mini wooden logs (in the brown coloured container)

Here is a look at what I have used inside each of our jars. I already had all these items at home. Get creative and see what you already have that could be used.

You can glue the lids on or tape around the lids with sticky tape (until secure) if you don't want children to be able to get out the little loose parts.
Play ideas using these colourful containers
On the light panel or on a light table - building etc.
They make great towers or blocks for building structures.

The mini unicorns shown above are from Kmart Australia. The lucite pillars, lucite hearts and heart blocks are from My Little Creator.

Set the containers up on a shelf like in the photo below or as part of an invitation to play.
